Volunteers
of all ages are an integral part of Unity's team and support our programs in a
number of ways throughout our 12-county service area in Northeast Wisconsin.
Daytime, evening and weekend opportunities are available in the following areas:
Patient Care
Companion sitting -
transportation - deliveries - hair and bath care - light housekeeping - meal
preparation - spiritual support - bereavement care -grief support - pet
volunteers
Creative
Projects
Knitting or crocheting
prayer shawls - sewing teddy bears or pillows - making quilt squares - singing
or playing music for special events
Community Outreach
Assisting with health
expos, memorial services or Speakers Bureau - facilitate grief support groups -
fundraising - distributing marketing materials
Hospice Residence and Campus Grounds
Preparing meals - special
programs and holiday events - gardens upkeep and watering - grounds keeping (all
seasons)
Administrative Office Support
Collating - filing - data entry -
mailings - telephone calls - faxing - copying - scheduling - packaging supplies
- special projects
Unity provides training sessions to our volunteers throughout the communities
we serve. As valuable staff members, we also ask volunteers to complete an
application and background information disclosure, and have a brief interview.
Volunteer meetings and many of the same education offerings that are established
for employees are also available to volunteers.
