Unity's Commitment to Quality
At Unity, quality is a part of everything we do.  Ongoing evaluation and improvement measures help us ensure that our patients and their families receive the best care at all times.

Recent research conducted by the National Hospice Foundation shows that Americans feel the following four services are most important for their loved ones who are at the end of their lives:
         ● Someone to be sure that the patient's wishes are honored
        ● A choice among the types of services the patient can receive
        ● Pain control tailored to the patient's wishes
        ● Emotional support for the patient and family

It is no surprise that the goals of patients and families have not changed since the start of our hospice program in 1977.  Those wishes are the foundation for hospice and palliative care and are shared in our mission.

Unity is committed to promoting dignity, comfort and
self-determination to anyone coping with a life-limiting illness or the issues of grief and loss.

Unity is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals and the communities in which they reside have access to education, support and quality holistic care.

At Unity, we continuously monitor our quality standards.  Since 2001, we have benchmarked our services through a nationwide family evaluation survey created by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).  The feedback shared in the surveys continues to echo the sentiments shared during interaction with our patients and drive our continued efforts:
Based on the care the patient received, virtually every family who
responded to the surveys would recommend our services to others
,
exceeding the state and national averages.
       ● Families continue to rate Unity care staff at or above the state and
national averages in terms of how they treat patients with respect.
       ● Unity knows that times of loss and grief can be difficult but not
everyone expresses the same needs for follow-up care.  An
overwhelming number of respondents to our surveys share that
Unity relayed information about grief and loss and met their
         bereavement needs.

Unity will continue to focus not only on what our patients need but what their families need as well.  This is an important part of our mission.
